Usui Reiki System of Natural Healing

Reiki is an age-old Japanese technique for healing our mind, body and spirit. It is a gentle non-intrusive laying on of hands that allows for the receiver to accept the Reiki healing energy while entering a relaxed, soothing state.

While our aura is an energy field that surrounds and interpenetrates our body, it is ultimately associated with our overall health. When we become ill, the normal function of this field is impaired. As practitioners working with Reiki, we can aide in the gentle reparation of the aura and all it encompasses.

Similar to acupuncture in its functioning, during Reiki, we supply bioenergy to the different systems in the body. While we often seek medical care for any physical symptoms of illness, dis-ease and/or pain, we forget how important our energetic body is.

Reiki is not a religion, but a spiritual practice that aides in a wonderful feeling of well-being, promotes emotional and physical healing and reduces stress and pain. It aides in lessening side effects of certain medical and/or therapeutic treatments and has been known to improve and alleviate many a malady. There are no negative side effects to Reiki and it does not allow itself to be used for ill-will. Reiki energy can be accessed whenever we choose and the receiver takes over from there, be it ourselves, another person, a pet, plant or an object. The use of symbols adds to a safe, protective work area as we are surrounded by loving, healing energy.

A person does not necessarily have to be spiritual or religious to benefit from the practice of Reiki – you just have to be willing to accept the treatment and your body will do the rest. Any and all can benefit from Reiki energy, from mothers expectant with child, infants, young children, teens and seniors, as well as those in palliative care. Healings work for some time after the session ends and results may not be noticed immediately.
