After the ups and downs of May and early June, I was pleased to see that once the new moon passed, the energy settled a little. I was no longer driven to get things done, but still managed to.

I had taken a few weeks off from healing so that I could paint (wall kind of painting) but I began to miss the energy of Reiki healing. So asking for some students to appear, got me just that. Then last week, I had two more wonderful women for the Munay-Ki rites and we spent three days in bliss and joy as we worked our way through the 9 Rites. What a gift to have students who really embrace the rites and are so committed to their path of learning. I invited my friend Katie along as she has a missing Pi stone and needed to charge up a new one. Pi stones do that sometimes, they just leave for a while and then reappear when you least expect them to.

After that amazing three days, Katie and I headed off to Island Bridges ~ a gathering of people mostly working in the wholistic healing field, who retreat to the Native Healing Centre for a weekend of self-care. The venue, after 22 years on Meares Island, has now moved to the new healing centre, Kackaamin, here in Port Alberni. A beautiful place indeed.

My draw to the weekend was the anticipation of the Sweat Lodge. I had not been to a sweat for a few years now and they are great facilitators for rebirth.

We were lucky to have two lodge leaders: J C, a Hesquiaht medicine man, and Munro, a Gaelic Shaman.

Speaking for myself, I can only say ~WOW! Those sweats – I did three – cleaned me out, recharged me and allowed my vibrations to soar where I was gifted with many visions of beauty.

The weekend had many other high points, and I fully intend to return next year for this wonderful time. I was reminded how our guides and masters love it when we gather in groups and send our prayers, love, light and laughter radiating out over the planet.

Returning home on Sunday, gave me time to prepare for the Solstice Celebration on Monday. Our group grew from the equinox gathering and we all celebrated the healing of the waters of the planet, particularly the Gulf of Mexico.

No matter what goes on there, group consciousness, group love, group light, singing, toning, drumming and seeing the Gulf in all its pristine beauty, free from strife, will do more for Gaia, our Beloved Mother Earth, than focussing on the negative will. That is all that is asked of us now, to send love, to be love and to live love. Our planet, all those planets and stars around us, right down through to the crystal core of our own Mother Earth, responds to love. This power is unmeasurable.

There are so many exciting dates coming up where the universal energy is working to help raise our consciousness so that we feel this love always. June 26 is a full moon, lunar eclipse with 7 planets aligning to form a Grand Cross.

The OM crystal at Mt. Shasta is emitting another stronger wave of Hope and Unconditional Love, so that we may tap into, and be in, this energy.

On July 11 there is a solar eclipse. Each of these events is here to aid us on our path. The path of peace and harmony, the path of Ascension.

Please take 5 minutes, better yet, take 30 minutes a day out of your hectic lives and sit quietly in meditation, or in silence and feel love, send it out to all of humanity, all of our kingdoms and rejoice, knowing you have done your part. Doing this will indeed improve your own lives in ways you can’t imagine. What we send out, is what we get back. What a great way to live! Namesté, Kate

The Spring Equinox came in with great celebration and the anchoring of one more phase in the alignment of our crystalline grid system for Mother Earth.

The intensity of the energies now enfolding our Beloved Earth can be confusing, tiring and energizing at the same time.

Many people are experiencing unrest, spikes in blood pressure, dizziness and detoxing cold symptoms that feel like allergies. These are among a few of the unexplained results of our bodies adjusting to the new vibrations.

The evolution of humanity is unfolding, there is no doubt! So what do we do?

Go with the flow, at all times, go with the flow. If you are experiencing any of the above, take a moment, breathe deeply a few times, go to your quiet place and sit, feel and listen within yourself. Become aware of what your body, mind and spirit are trying to tell you. Slow down your pace, take time for yourself and pay attention. Is there some unfinished self business you need to take care of? Have you let go of all those past digressions or resentments? We are at a time when we have to realize that what has happened in the past is no longer relevant to our lives now. Forgive everyone, forgive yourself and begin living ”in the now”. When we practise living “in the now”, in the present moment, we are able to more fully engage with our true selves. This makes our interactions/reactions to our environment on all levels, more real, more true and more at peace. When we practice peace in the now moment, tomorrow takes care of itself.

It is time that we step into responsibility for ourselves and each other. Disengage from those battles you think you need to fight. Stop sending worry about people and things that we cannot control, into our surrounding energy field. Stop blaming ~ whether it be people, circumstances or yourselves. Realize there is no blame. It just is what it is! Learn not to see problems, but opportunities to learn a new level of understanding. Take responsibility and send love. Love yourself most importantly. Then send love to those you see struggling, those you see angry, those you see smiling and then to those you don’t see.

Join in with the greatest opportunity any of us have ever been given, and live to the fullest. Humanity is evolving, our DNA is reconnecting and we are being given a chance to create, through our thoughts, words and actions, a better world. A world of love, peace and joyous celebration. Let us all do this together. Namesté, Kate

This question is one we could all do without.

We learn in life that we are happiest living without ever having to say “I should have, could have, would have”. If something crosses our mind, we chose either to do it or not, say it or not. If our intuition says yes, follow it and either do it or say it because you chose to, and want to, not because you “should” or have to.

Doing something out of duty, out of some misplaced sense of rightness leads to negativity deep within ourselves leaving an imprint in our Luminous Energy Field, or aura. This in turn opens up the possibility of weakness in our LEF which in turn opens us up to ‘dis ease’ which can manifest on many levels through physical sickness, or emotional self disgust as we once again find ourselves doing something we don’t really want to do.

When we decide to do things from choice, from the heart, we have stepped into service. Service for ourselves, our friends, our local community or our global community. This changes the energy around the choice into something positive instead of negative. All our choices ‘should’ be made with/from our intuition and then we cannot steer wrong. If we go with the flow, let go of all attachments and allow the universal energy to guide us along our chosen path, life happens. A life of goodness, happiness, health and myriad possibilities. Miracles can happen as we experience the river of positive energy flowing with us, carrying us along with no resisitance, only joy. This, we should do.

I just had the honour of spending six days in the Colorado mountains at a place called the Shambhala Mountain Centre. It is a 600 acre parcel of land in the stewardship of a Buddhist community of staff, 50 volunteers – all under the directorship of Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche. Their Great Stupa of Dharmakaya is a beautiful, powerful shrine indeed.

An even greater honour for me, was the sharing again of the 9 Rites of the Inca Medicine Way, known as Munay-Ki, in the presence of the Q’ero – Don Francisco and Chino. They are direct descendents of the Laika, or Earthkeepers, who originally travelled from Siberia, across the Bering Straight and down through North America to settle in the Amazon and the Peruvian Andes. They are the “gifters” of the Munay-Ki, bringing light and healing to the rest of the world. As well, we were blessed with having Alberto Villoldo, his lovely wife Marcela Lobos, and Victoria Johnson, all spiritual warriors, healers and teachers of Munay-Ki. Alberto is the founder of the Healing the Light Body School and the Four Winds Society. To be in the company of so much Munay (love) was an honour I will never forget.

Words cannot describe the amazing transformation of many receiving the rites for the first time. As a participant receiving these 9 Rites again, from such wise and gracious souls with their presence as wide as the Colorado sky, as high as the mountains and as warm and grounded as Pachamama (mother earth), is a warm and fuzzy feeling that lives within my heart and soul.

There was a large group, 70 in all, and the energy, joy and Munay circling around us in the room was measurable. Every day the staff of Shambhala would say how wonderful it was to have us all “glowing” around their centre.

The first time I took these 9 Rites of Munay-Ki, they impacted on me so much that within a year I had changed my job and began to work with healing energy (Munay-Ki, Usui and Karuna Reiki and Cranialsacral Therapy) as an integral part of my life, knowing I was called to do this. Now having being given the Munay-Ki again, I can feel the changes within me already, and I know this will be an even larger part of my work, my passion.

The lessons of the Q’ero, the teachings and healings of Munay-Ki are beyond words. We are indeed dreaming our world into being and creating a world-wide community of luminous beings living from the heart. Munay Sonko!

The Glastonbury Tor has been dated back to 500 – 1000 AD. There is proof that in 1243, the Monastery of St Michaels was granted permission to hold a fair on top of the hill. The monks lived there until 1275 when the monastery was destroyed by a large earthquake. It was rebuilt in the 14th Century, but all that remains today is the topless Tower. After the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539, this particular monastery was a pile of rubble and most of the stones were carted away by locals for their own building projects.

We leave the faeries behind and work our way up the hill to the tower. I was surprised how close we
actually were when we hit the path we were meant to follow. Originally the Tor would have been walked in
its labrynth pattern, but with fear of erosion to the hillside, it is requested that we stick to the marked
path.

It is very windy at the top and stepping inside the tower is like stepping into a wind tunnel. It is cool as
well, and many of my Reiki classmates seek the side of the tower for its warmth and windbreak. We
enjoyed our lunch, marvelled at the 360 degree view, took pictures and gradually separated to check out
the energy around the hilltop.

I lay on the earth and sent Harth, a Karuna Reiki symbol (heals all relationships) that the faeries requested
we send. Considering the hanging of the abbot in the tower in 1539, by King Henry VIII, the energy of the
Tor feels pretty good. In fact, it is almost invigorating. It is said you can climb the Tor in a negative frame
of mind, but you will leave feeling lighthearted, even singing. I could understand why the Tor would need
to fill its own well of healing energy, and as we left the Tor, headed towards the trees, I did feel pretty
good and was ready for more adventure.

Gog and Magog, are 2000 year old oak trees that have survived much in their lifetimes. (These trees are named after two legendary Pagan giants who are immortalized through wooden carvings displayed in the London Guildhall). Until several years ago, they both held all their leaves, but now Gog is but a tall stump and his bark is threatening to fall. These two trees are the last of an ancient avenue of oaks, believed to be planted by the Druids to walk between on their sacred journey to the Tor top. They are hidden in a corner of a field surrounded by a fence that we eagerly climb to get closer, and put our hands on the ancient trees.

Magog still lives but you can feel her sadness. I call her a ‘she’ as I felt a gently, soft energy. People have
been paying their respects as there are little gifts of jewelry, money, ribbons and crystals nestled in her
crevices.

I moved to Gog and was totally caught off guard with his sadness. Within a minute, there were huge tears
pooling in my eyes and gulps caught in my throat. I knew if I didn’t break contact, I would have been a sobbing mess.

I pretty well ran to the fence to put some distance between us as this amount of emotion was the last
thing I expected to feel.

In fact, here at home, I have a large oak tree, who is slowly losing some of its life. I have often felt her
energy while I was looking for wisdom and/or stories and just to feel the soft green cloak of her aura, but never have I felt the likes of which overcame me that afternoon by the ancient, sacred giants. I am blessed and full of gratitiude for the journey once again.

The day after our Karuna Reiki Master course ended, our class and friends set off on a hike, visiting many magical places that are well within walking distance of the Abbey.

One of the stops I was anticipating was the entrance to Faerieland on the Tor.

The first night I stayed at the Abbey, as I settled in to bed, thinking about our Reiki course beginning and the excitement of the symbols, I felt many happy little faeries jumping up and down around my feet. This lasted for about 3 minutes, so I sent a silent hello and thanked them for the greeting. This only confirmed that my whole journey was going to be wonderful, just as I envisioned.

After we left the Chalice Well and the White Spring (stories waiting to be told), we headed up the path to the Tor.

The Tor, a hill named for the tower left standing after the second built church was destroyed by an earthquake in 1275, stands tall in the area. It is home to Gwyn ap Nudd, King of the Faeries, as well as a source of countless legends of the past. The Tor is atop a hill built in a labrynth pattern, which in ancient history is typical of the Goddess. These hills and mountains were her thrones on earth, celebrating harmony and balance, depicting the soul’s journey of life, death and rebirth.

There is a story dating 650 AD of a Christian hermit who was living in a cell on the Tor and was visited by two emissaries of the Faerie King, Gwyn ap Nudd. They persuaded him to visit their King on the summit of the Tor. Believing faeries to be demons, he took holy water with him. When offered food, he refused and
sprinkled the holy water everywhere. Immediately their glass castle and the faeries disappeared from sight.

Legend has this area known also as the Glass Island and Annwn, the Celtic land of Faeries, King Arthur and the cauldron of plenty. Years before the UK redefined it’s land mass, Glastonbury was surrounded by water and was known as the Isle of Avalon, the place between death and the next journey. There are legends associated throughout history with this magical place, stories abounding with King Arthur, the Druids, the Celts and Morgan La Fay (Celtic Goddess and Faerie Queen, as well as being King Arthur’s sister).

For all the legends, upon our visit on June 8/09, the Faeries were there, inquisitive, excited and shy at the same time. We all sat on the hillside about half way up to the Tor, near the entrance to their home and silently said our thanks, welcoming the Faeries. Within seconds of our silence, the faeries were upon us.
As they jumped on our backs, it felt like a push (they weigh more than I imagined), they tapped our shoulders, our noses, our mouths, hid in the trees, peeked out, and danced around us. They wanted to know who we were. Linda, one of my classmates, told them we were Karuna Reiki Master/healers/practitioners. They wanted to know the symbols, and upon seeing them, asked for us to chant some of them, picking one because they thought it looked like fun (it looks like a propeller of sorts).
They also asked us to send healing to the Tor, with one symbol in particular as it heals the heart, all manner of relationships, develops compassionate action and invites happiness. This symbol is often sent to Spiritual Beings so they can aide us in creating love in our hearts.

We chanted a few of the symbols, a beautiful sound and a wonderful way to evoke the healing powers of the symbols. We then thanked the Faeries and continued up the hillside to the Tor, opening up more adventures and more stories for another day.

My trip has come and gone and I’m still processing all the amazing things I experienced while there in the Glastonbury area.

The class was wonderful and the symbols of Karuna are a gift in themselves. They are keys that activate deep healing at different frequencies and as we practised these symbols during our class, the differences in their energies was palpable.

The highlight of the class, and I believe this is true for all 21 of us, was our last attunement in the center of Stonehenge.

The call of the stones was in me long before I left Port Alberni, and as I was approaching the megalithic structure for the first time, the tears sprung up and slowly glided down my cheeks for a good hour. It was a “coming home” experience, a true release of anticipation as I felt the core of my being slowly expand and release and pure happiness engulfed me. As my friend, Judy (she was accepted as part of our class, even though she wasn’t actually in it) and I walked around the circle in awe, still outside the ropes, we high-fived, hugged, laughed and I cried some more tears. I took snapshots at every 10 paces, I am sure, and surprised they turned out as I could barely see through my watery eyes.

Our private session was for 7:30 so we had a good hour to absorb the immensity of the experience before they kicked everyone out and got readied for the private groups. We reassembled and entered again.
This time the ropes were down. As a sign of respect for this great sacred place, we removed our shoes and socks, even though we had piled on extra fleece as the wind was biting. To feel our bare feet on the sacred ground was something special. As we hurried to feel the stones, hands on and third eye touching, (as I think all energy healers would do given the chance), we were overcome with joy and so many unnameable feelings.

As we settled in to the experience, we laid our treasures in the center of our circle. We had all brought stones, crystals, jewelry, candles, crystal skulls, singing bowls, etc. to absorb the awesome healing energy of our circles during class and especially for our circle in the middle of Stonehenge. We sent symbols to the Stones and as we steadied our souls with a meditation/prayer of gratitude and invitation, William Rand, our facilitator and founder of the International Center for Reiki Training, proceeded with our attunement.
I have never had an attunement with such a large number of people before this class, so that also was a gift. It gives you time to process and allow the symbols to work their magic into your chakras before the next step, and still experience more magic as the energy circles round.

After the first round, I immediately ‘saw’ Stonehenge in all it’s original grandeur against a vivid purple/violet starlit sky. There were trees in the picture also and the image remained long enough to get a good look. It is imprinted in my soul. I thanked the universe again for this awe-inspiring opportunity and gift. The second round brought a picture of the Druids gathered in all their glory. As I mentioned these visions on the bus back to the Glastonbury Abbey Retreat House, our home for four nights, one of my classmates said “I saw the exact same images”. It was just too cool! There were many gifted healers and a couple gifted ‘channelers’ so to speak, and everyone was blessed with their own special insights.

We were now Karuna Reiki Master/Teachers, with an unforgettable shared gift. We all commented also on the change in the circle as our attunement began.

Before we started the Jackdaws had been circling overhead making themselves known as some of them live in the hollows now worn out in the Sarson stones. The wind had been cold and brisk but all that changed.
The birds became silent and still, the wind ceased and we could all feel a warm beam of light on our faces even though the sun was not visible. We were grateful again for the divine presence and the shared love and joy.

We gathered back at the Abbey for a snack left by the gracious staff and people either slid off to their rooms for some private processing or shared more thoughts on our incredible journey.
In the morning, our hugs were just that much more loving and joyous. Life is indeed grand, generous and humbling. I thank one and all, visible and not, for my journey of a lifetime.

Fourteen more sleeps and I am off on my great adventure to Glastonbury, the original Isle of Avalon and all the history, magic and secrets the area holds.

The time seemed to be moving so slowly, but on May 1st, everything changed again. I went to spend time with the ancient crystal skull, Sha Na Ra.

I had really been looking forward to this visit and originally my friend Judy and I were going to share the half hour, but it worked out we both had 30 minutes alone with it. We were grateful in the end, because I don’t think 15 minutes would have done it for either of us.

The energy of the skull, different for everyone, picked me up and carried me places I can’t name then about two hours later, sent me crashing into a ‘zone’ – another place I can’t name as I’m not sure where I was. I do know, while with the skull, I flew over an Alpine meadow, either with an eagle or as an eagle – I can’t say. I am still deciphering info but I have to say I came out of it feeling more grounded that I was in the weeks leading up to the visit. The anticipation of the skull and the trip was keeping me pretty well two feet off the ground.

I received my Karuna Reiki textbook for my course and I am thrilled about the promise the new symbols will bring to my healing.

The anticipation of it all sits like a ball in the core of my being as I feel the adventure calling to me. I am experiencing joy, excitement, laughter and great gratitude to the universe for bringing my dream to reality.

I look forward to being able to share my experiences with you all. The days are flying by now and I hope time slows again when I arrive on that sacred ancient ground.

Nameste, in peace, love, light and laughter, Kate

I have been thinking a lot lately about my relationships with the universe. Be it with a human, animal, plant or the earth, they are all important to me.

I realize how much I have grown when I notice how my perception of things has changed and I no longer struggle with relationships.

Coming from a large family and a larger, diverse group of friends, there is always some form of ‘drama’ so to speak, going on. Being able to step out of the box and not get caught up in the emotion of it all, really does offer a change of view. Being able to see the whole picture, feel all the emotions without becoming attached is a blessing indeed. When we realize there are no sides to take, we allow ourselves to perceive things differently. When we realize that every feeling we have is a valid emotion and take that a step further , to realize that other people’s feelings are valid to them, our ‘perception’ changes from one of defense to one of acceptance. This acceptance, or acknowledgement, of ourselves and others is a wonderful thing as we go from something negative to something positive. As we begin to accept that we are all different we can then embrace that diversity and our perception changes yet again.

As our perception changes – so does our attitude. We accept others more readily and find kinder words to say. We listen better, watch more closely and clearly and open ourselves to opportunities we may have missed before. We learn to celebrate our uniqueness and even if the experience is one we choose to disengage from, our whole perception of the matter changes as we come from a place of peace, love and understanding. Our relationships then, are true, and coming from our heart.
